Scholarship to Study In China

study-in-ChinaStudying in China has recently become very affordable for self sponsorship. Aside that, the are many scholarships available to help reduce the average of about US$3300 tuition fee.

To be admitted into any Chinese university as an international student, one must possess a valid passport, be of good health and virtue. Most important of them all is the willingness to abide by the laws of the Chinese Government and the regulations of CUMT-Beijing respecting Chinese culture and customs.

Generally, every applicant must provide the following during the application process;

  • A photocopy of a valid passport.

  • Recommendation letters from teachers or lecturers.

  • Academic transcripts.

  • Police report showing no criminal records.

  • Medical reports showing that the applicant is in good health.


For undergraduate studies, one must also provide his/her High school certificate or diploma. Master's degree or Ph.D. students would also be required to provide their highest academic diploma or certificate of university education.









Applications are normally opened between the period of January and early April. However, application and submission of required documents must be done before the deadline.

Application fee in every university ranges from US$90  to US$150.


Cost of living depends on the location of stay. Cost of living in major cities like Beijing and Shanghai can range from US$740 to US$830 whilst cost of living in other cities can range from US$250 to US$580 (All on monthly basis).



How to apply for a scholarship in Chinese universities


  1. Consult the dispatching authorities for scholarship details and application instructions. Send the required application documents to application receiving agencies.

  2. Contact Chinese universities for Pre-admission Letter once recommended by dispatching authorities as a scholarship candidate and enclose it in your application package. Applicants without Pt-admission Letter might be recruited by a different university other than their target universities.

  3. Register and submit your online application at the CSC Online Application System for International Students, and print a hard copy of a completed Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship. Make sure you type in the correct Agency Number (obtained from the application receiving agencies once recommended as a candidate) when logging in for online application.

  4. Send the application documents (enclose your Pre-admission Letter if available) to the specific application receiving agency. Incomplete application documents will lead to rejection.

  5. ‘Contact the application receiving agencies around the end of July for the result sent by CSC
