Full list of Polytechnics in Ghana

All ten regions of the country are scattered with polytechnics. Each region of Ghana has one polytechnic. These polytechnics offer more technical courses compared to their counterparts (universities). These polytechnics are located in the capital cities of each region. Their names were therefore acquired using the capital cities of their respective regions.

Accra polytechnic:

Starting from the capital region of Ghana, the Accra polytechnic located in the capital city of Ghana can be found just a few minutes walk from the Ministries along the Barnes road. The polytechnic offers good programs like computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, Statistics and much more. Standard of living in this polytechnic is very high because it is located in the heart of Accra. However, the cost of living depends solely on the individual.

Kumasi Polytechnic

Located at Fante New town in the Kumasi metro, just a few minutes ride from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology, the polytechnic is deemed as one of the best tertiary institutions in the Ghana. A recent studyshowed that the polytechnic ranked higher than most universities in Ghana. Kumasi polytechnic is ranked as the best polytechnic in Ghana and as well as the 11th best tertiary institution in Ghana. It is currently the only polytechnic offering the dispensary technology program. This course is highly related to pharmacy so all graduates may continue to pursue a pharmacy degree upon completion.

 

Cape Coast Polytechnic:

As the name goes, the Cape Coast polytechnic is located at Ayifua in Cape Coast, near GNAT hostel.

 

Koforidua Polytechnic:

Koforidua Polytechnic is the ideal polytechnic for people who love flowers. It is located at Fanteakwa, along the Ejisu Road of the Eastern region of Ghana. The Eastern region of Ghana is well known for its beautiful flower and tree scenery. The relatively warmer weather makes studies in the Kumasi polytechnic very interesting.

 

Wa Polytrechnic:

The Wa Polytechnic is located at Wa in the Upper West  region of Ghana.This polytechnic also offers very good courses. Life on campus can be very cheap since foods are generally cheaper.

 

Takoradi Polytechnic:

Takoradi polytechnic is located at Sefwi  Wiawso in the Western region.

 

Sunyani Polytechnic:

The Sunyani polytechnic is found at Asunafo in the Brong Ahafo region of Ghana,

Ho Polytechnic:

Ho polytechnic is located at Ho in the Ho district of the Volta region of Ghana.

 

Tamale Polytechnic:

Tamale polytechnic is situated at Tamale in the Northern region of Ghana.

 

Bolgatanga Polytechnic:

Found in Bolgatanga in the Upper East region of Ghana
